Lisa Pulliam

Founder of StableMinded with Lisa Pulliam

Lisa Pulliam is not your typical horsewoman! While her earliest memories include pony rides and playing with her rocking horse, she did not necessarily grow up with horses. As a middle schooler, she had the privilege of going on day-long trail rides with her uncle, with her arms wrapped around his waist as they galloped through state parklands. As a high school and college gal, she participated in riding camps and the club team, but quickly realized the competition world was not for her.

While she dreamed of one day growing up and owning a beautiful bay gelding for herself, that dream did not come true until she hit her late forties and met Kodiak Jack, a 16'2 hand, off-the-track, and seven-year abandoned racehorse.

Lisa brings into her horsemanship the perspective of a mental health professional with a passion for helping fellow equestrians experience calm and confidence in and out of the tack. She is the author and creator of the HorseClass.com program, Finding Calm: Helping Riders Navigate through Fear and Anxiety, which was developed out of her personal comeback experience utilizing her skills and knowledge as a trauma-informed coach and therapist. Through her business, Stableminded.us, she specializes in working not only with equestrians but also with individuals, families, and groups providing coaching, therapy, and leadership development for improving overall wellness as well as personal and professional performance to clients online as well as in-person at Concordia Stables.

Lisa is a certified Natural Lifemanship Trauma-Informed Equine-Assisted Specialist and Coach, Life Breakthrough Coach, and Highlands Ability Battery Consultant, holds a Master's in Clinical Counseling with a trauma concentration, and is EMDR trained. When she’s not serving clients, you can find her balancing her time at the stables enjoying her barn family and beloved Kody, and home savoring the time with her husband of 27 years, all-grown-up children, and being entertained by her beloved Golden Retriever.
