MEET OUR HORSES
Rosa is a beautiful, dutch warmblood mare. This girl has been there and done that. She is a favorite of many lesson students. Other than some grey hairs in the face, no one would ever guess she is the oldest horse in the barn! While Rosa adjusts beautifully to be a comfortable, easy going girl for the walk - trotters, she loves when she gets the chance to jump and move out, and show her lovely gaits off!
Meet Ellie, a shining star among our seasoned lesson horses at Concordia Stables. A beautiful blend of Percheron power and Morgan elegance, Ellie has been a cornerstone in many riders education. With Ellie, every rider, from novice to advanced, can be met where they are at and learn to find their finesse and confidence in the saddle. She has very smooth gaits and teaches her riders clarity of the aids.
Phinneas is a stout, PaintxDraft cross gelding. He has been said to have no shortage of personality. He is a herd leader and has the best hair of the school horses. He teaches his rider how to keep a horse between the aids, and is very comfortable and honest over fences. If you are looking for a big horse head to snuggle, Phin is your boy.
Captain is an adorable, chestnut, quarter horse cross gelding. While he would rather sit on the couch and eat chips all day, he is one of the fancier horses we have in the barn. Once riders figure him out, he becomes incredibly light and adjustable. He is a really great mount to teach proper connection and the importance of hind end engagement. While he may not look it, once his forward energy is unlocked, his gaits are to die for.
Grey Molly is a big TBxPercheronxPaint cross who teaches all levels of riders. She has been a character since she came into our lives as a yearling. She is known for always finding the dirtiest spots to roll, and showing off that dirt on her grey coat(she should really be called “brown molly”). Grey Molly is a favorite for those learning to canter. While Molly is a big girl who tends to conserve energy, the athletic Thoroughbred side of her comes out when it comes time to jump. Anyone can become
Meet Amiano, the 4-legged maestro of charm—a dazzling Palomino with a dash of Standardbred flair. This is one of the most human horses that you will ever meet. Amiano's eyes sparkle with curiosity; he is incredibly inquisitive and doesn't miss a beat. He is very safe and knows a lot, and will let you know when you don't. Being a Quarter Horse Standardbred cross, he has a beautiful ground covering trot. He teaches his riders to have a steady following feel. Once you figure that out, he's a dream.
Nala
Teddy's name describes him well. When he came to us he was known as “Soldier” but we soon discovered that was not the right fit. Teddy is on a journey of self discovery, and has been coming along beautifully. Teddy is ridden by advanced riders, and teaches them that less is more. While he may not be the first one to come up to you in the field, he is always looking to use his favorite trick of giving kisses to earn cookies.
